National Academy has been operating since 1983 in Kingston, Jamaica. It is the leading institution in the training of Practical Nurses in the country supplying personnel who have been trained to world-class standards to hospitals, health centres, nursing homes and other health care facilities.
Since its inception in 1983, National Academy has assisted hundreds of students to achieve their academic goals in nursing, business, information technology and science.
Managed by a group of highly trained professional educators, the Academy’s main focus is to provide educational services to individuals, who wish to expand their education credentials to be more marketable in the world of work. The Academy is a registered entity, both with the Registrar of Companies, the Ministry of Education and has an accredited Practical Nursing programme with the National Council on Technical Vocational Education and Training (NCTVET). The Ministry of Education which has jurisdiction over all educational institution in Jamaica has monitoring and supervisory responsibilities for National Academy. The Education Ministry endorses the programme for the training of Practical Nursing. Accreditation falls within the preview of the NCTVET. NCTVET is accredited by the Internal Standards Organisation (ISO) and is a full member of (ACEAB), the Association of Commonwealth Examination and Accrediting Bodies.
